SUMMARY: Dorn Policy Group has been providing lobbying and governmental relations services to the City of Kingman since January 2018. The firm was hired for an initial nine month period which expired on September 30, 2018. At the expiration of that term, the firm was hired for another nine month term which expired on June 30, 2019.
Staff is requesting to continue a partnership with Dorn Policy Group through June 30, 2020. The contract amount equates to $66,000 (billed $5,500 per month) plus out-of-pocket expenses such as travel, accommodations, postage, etc. This is the same rate that has been paid since January 2018.
FISCAL IMPACT: There will be a fiscal impact of $66,000 plus out-of-pocket expenses (shared between the General Fund and the Water Fund) as approved in the FY2019-20 adopted budget.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends entering into a contract with Dorn Policy Group to provide lobbying and governmental relations services for the period of July 1, 2019 through June 30, 2020.
